Kyoshi Mel,
Mandai Sensei, my Aikido instructor in Japan, used to use a term, "ii kanji" which has the double meaning of the "correct feeling" and "feels good", whenever applying a joint lock - a little bit of martial arts humour I suppose as he would look at me writhing in pain and ask "ii kanji desu ka?
It is always a pleasure to visit the West Side Seido Club to see friends, train hard and reflect on my own development. The drills (and we are already enjoying them in class here) were fantastic and I greatly appreciate your generous sharing of them with me.
The classes, as always, were excellent. Your Technique Shiai drill was a new experience for me - it will certainly find a place in our sylabus too. Thanks again for the hard work and effort that you put into the Karate Club - it is certainly an inspiration to have your direction and motivation.
And ... I didn't notice the cut across my knuckles until I got back to Toronto and tried your 1-handed pushups again.
Ii Kanji!!!
Osu,
Mike
